We believe that all cats and cat breeds make amazing pets and we recommend adopting vs purchasing pets. This quiz was meant for fun and not as a reference for what cat would be best for your home.
About the quiz
As any cat lover knows, you never meet two cats who are alike. Every cat has a unique and lovable personality. There are inherent traits in cat breeds. Even though most cats are mixes of different cat breeds it can be helpful and fun to know cat breed distinctions.
The data we considered for the game.
There’s a lot of data on the internet breaking down the traits of different cat breeds. We looked at some of the data out there and then put our own spin on it. We based each cat breed on the following criteria:
- Family-friendly
- Shedding
- General health
- Playfulness
- Vocal
- Kid-friendly
- Friendly towards strangers
- Easy to groom
- Intelligence
- Pet friendly
How we built the game.
We created a question related to each data point mentioned in the list above. For each question, we provided three answers.
- One answer strongly supported the question.
- One answer lightly supported the question.
- One answer did not support the question.
For each answer, a user was given a score. For strongly agreeing you received three points, for lightly you received two points, and for not agreeing you received one point.
Putting it all together.
Next, we put our questions and answers into quiz software.
We estimated scores for each cat and linked the quiz results to end pages. On the end pages, you get to see what cat breed you most resemble.
In conclusion
We had a blast putting this quiz together and people seem to be really enjoying it. Don’t take the results too seriously. This isn’t a perfectly thought-out scientific study. It’s just meant for fun.
